I am not looking to start yet another thread on preferred oils, fluids, filters, etc. I have a very simple question for Kioti NX owners.

In looking at my new NX5010C shuttle shift owners manual, I see engine oil / filter replacement at 400 hours, hydraulic fluid / filter intervals at 400 / 200 hours and front axle fluid at 400 hours. And there is no 50 hour recommended engine oil or front axle service, just hydraulic filter replacement (and a few other things to check / adjust).

Does anybody actually use these intervals??

The dealer recommends 100 for engine oil / filter and 200 for hydraulic oil / filter (didn't ask on front axle). These seem more reasonable to me and what I have done on my 2011 Mahindra 3616.

My manual states change the front axle oil at 50 hours. As well as transmission oil filter, HST oil filter, transmission fluid. Then the normal check clutch pedal (doesn't apply to me), and check brake pedal play.

I'm with you that it's odd it does want the oil changed at 50 hours on Tier4 engines, but does for Tier3. I'm currently ~33 hours on my 5010, but I can assure you I'll be changing engine oil/filter when I do the rest at 50 hours.

Engine oil at 100 HRS
Grease loader at every use
Grease axle and three point every 50 HRS
Hydro change every 400 HRS
Front axle at 400 HRS
Battery replacement seems to have set up a schedule on my tractor of every two years. Just threw an AGM (the third battery since owning) into the turd hoping to get away from flat battery blues. On the other hand, it might just be where I live as my vehicles chew through batteries as well.

My stock battery died within the first couple months as well. I bit the bullet and bought an Odyssey. Pricey bugger but I prefer a good AGM in this cold climate.

My manual just says to check the front axle and to only change the hydraulic filters, not the fluid. My manual has "Date of editing" on the outside back cover of Jul 2018 (white block with bar code at lower right corner).

Thanks Eric. That's closer to what I am used to. I am assuming that engine oil and hydro change includes both fluid and filter.

Funny how people in the north complain about cold killing their batteries and people in the south complain about heat killing their batteries! Maybe we all need to move to San Francisco - never mind, I'll keep buying batteries.

Changed my battery last year in my 2012 Dk40 and live in a cold climate.Feel 6 years is not too bad for the life of a battery.I leave my battery on a battery minder all winter.

Since I got my machine in the fall, did engine oil to go to synthetic, and also did tranny to synthetic as well at 50 hours. Saw a post later that someone used the relatively clean tranny oil for their chainsaw?? Either way gave me warm fuzzies. Gets cold up here in Canada.🥶🥶🥶

Nah, just move to Northern Virginia. We have a temperate climate, and, at least for now, are a purple state. :)

In two months, I'll begin my seventh year with the OEM battery in my 2014 NX4510HST cab.

I do keep the tractor garaged, so no extremely cold starts, and for the last five years I plug it into a HF "deluxe" trickle charger when not in use.

Got 11 years from the original battery on my DK35 (Western,Pa.)
Never had a battery tender on it.
