The steering on my Kioti CS2220 has always been stiff. Now it is stiffer and when the steering wheel is turned quickly it sounds like the steering on an older automobile that has very little power steering fluid in it.
Has anyone had any experience with something like this on a CS2220?

I have not experienced any issues. When you say 'stiff' - how do you reference this? Got another tractor? Cranking the steering at standstill on pavement under a FEL load?

Drop the FEL, raise the front axle off the ground - how does the steering turn then? Any odd sounds? Any leaks?

Hard to understand what you are noting/experiencing without some examples.

The steering unit is powered by the main hydro pump and the THF. Check your THF level and when did you change out the filters?

Under a heavy load on the FEL the wheels resist turning when not in motion, but this normal. Small turn increments at slow speeds is required.

Priority valve is acting up. It screws in the side of the hydraulic block.
That would be my guess too, unless you have a kinked hose to the steering valve (4 hoses go to it I believe).

When steering is stiff and noisy, how do the FEL hydraulics behave? One pump integrated into the transaxle is shared by all the hydraulics on the machine.

Based on the price tag for a new valve, plus installation........I hope, for your sake, that it is something simpler.

At 50 hours it was serviced by the dealer. At around 60 hours the dealer replaced the Starter. That was the last time it was at the dealership. I will get the present hours tomorrow. As far as a comparison I am coparing it to a 255 Massey, 5145 Mahindra, BX2200 Kubota, and a 1126 Mahindra.

It has 150.4 hours on it.

We all know nothing is cheap in terms of OEM tractor parts, but if you totalled up the priority valve, the control valve, hoses, cylinder and other associated bits and pieces, it would probably add up to half the price of the tractor! It really is discouraging.
