Has anybody considered moving the key to a different location,,,

I seemed to constantly be hitting the key with my knee ,shutting down engine

This was the first negative that arose with my CK35 HST. It seems a very common complaint on TBN.

There doesn't seem to be an obvious alternate place on the dash to mount it. I am keen to hear ideas from others as well.

My solution was to get another key cut and then cut down the top to leave only a small enough lever to turn for start up. Of course, being so small I have now lost it somewhere and had to use the original the last 2 times! Talk about old age and stupidity ........?:laughing:

Yes, I tend to shut the tractor down every time I hit a bump. Haven't thought about moving the ignition, not really something I want to mess with. One could probably cut a hole further up the dash and reseat the switch.

I ground the key off and also cut off the direction flasher lever as shown in this post:

It is simple and has worked well.

I hit the key and it bends some then I hit it again and so on-DK 40 it points AT your knee-not away from!!!
Then you have the (previously mentioned by others) misplaced hydraulic lever that gets hit by your right thigh, then shuts down the fluid power.
Next we have the fuse box which my 9.5 left boot hits often enough that I've had to epoxy it back together twice.
Honestly, it's too bad such an otherwise solid machine hit the market w/o better screening for these various issues.

TAKE NOTE-The DK40 key is my problem child. I'm short yet the key is close to & aimed at & hits my knee constantly!

Bobcat CT225/230/235 key is kind of on top of the dash

It looks like the Kioti CK25/30/35 key is in the exact same location

I never have any problem with my knee hitting the key, and I'm 5' 11".

I think I've done it maybe twice in several years. The real issue with me is the rain that gets into the ignition and corroding the contacts. I'm trying to come up with an idea for a flip up cover that would solve both problems. I really don't want to move whole thing.

Here's the Kioti key cap that will fit your tractor too. Use mine all the time. It's #6 in the diagram. Error If you click on error, it works.

When I'm using the tractor, I took one of these rubber caps, cut it shorter, put a small slit in it, and pushed the key in the slit. Works perfect especially when snowplowing in a blizzard. Shop Waxman 1-1/8 Rubber Tips at Lowes.com
