Kioti CK20HST
Well.. a full day has passed since Kioti came out to look at my tractor.

Even though there was very slight dis-agreement as to the scope of the problem, they took all steps to have a happy customer and they got one. I am now satisfied that even though I still can't link up to my farmer neighbors JD 9320 and drag him backwards /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, that my tractor is now doing all it can do and that is all I can ask. I am a happy customer.

The HST now pulls the engine down when putting power to the wheels and is putting the power to the ground. I didn't do any other tests with 4x4's or 6x6's because I didn't need to. With the changes that were made the engine obviously takes notice now and I am satisfied that whatever it will or won't climb over that it is performing at its fullest potential.... and again, that is all I EVER asked.

Good job Kioti!!!

What exactly was the fix? I'm sure there are others on board here (no pun intended) who would like to check and see if their units have the same issue...

The technician basically had ziplock bags of HST valves and changed it out 3 or 4 times, tested after each valve and finally told me... get on and try it out. It is a totally different tractor now.

Congratulations.

Nice to see this one resolved properly.

I quess this means whatever 4 point pressure test your dealer claimed he ran on the hydro transmission was basically useless or incorrectly done since the valve they claimed was OK obviously was not.
Good to hear its working better for you.

That's GREAT news! Congratulations! I have been following your posts about your problem for quite a while. I'm glad it got worked out. Now you can really get out there and dirty! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You should also post the resolution in the original complaint thread so future TNB Kiotiists "... will know ... the rest of the story."

Congrats Getut,
glad you are all fixed up.

I think DK35Vince's post is also appropriate in that Kioti needs to let it's service/sales reps know what to look for. I personally tried 2 seperate CK20s that did not show well because of the HST issue we discussed at length. The salesman/service people were also at a loss when I demo'd the problem for them.

I think the CK20 is a sweet little tractor - have fun!!.

As a side note, I went to my local Kioti dealer yesterday to check out some new arrivals, prices are up! seemed to be +5 to 10%. Guess thats inevitable, what with Yen/Wan/$$ relations and steel prices.

After reading your initial posts. I tried the test you were describing with my bx23. In low gear rear wheels against a 4x4 it would go up and over no problem backwards and forwards. In high gear, it was a no go. With a 2x4 it went over in both hi and low gear.

I'm very happy with my bx23, but your post did start me thinking.

regards,

Luis Leon

P.S. I glad it all worked out for you in the end.

was this a fix for the lack of ground power in hi gear ? if so, how much more power do you have for ground climb now? my ck20hst can't handle my driveway (10 to 15 degree incline) at all in hi gear in transport mode..... did the valve change make a drastic improvement...

Jim

I suggest you get in touch with Robert (Getut) via PM and have him put you in touch with the folks he talked to. Your tractor should not have that problem, and since his got fixed, it is possible to fix yours too.

We need to remember (go back and read his posts) that Getut's issue tested out within spec by the dealer, in the way the dealer was told to check it. This is an issue that is above dealer level. If your dealer checks out your machine and if it is within spec, then you likely have the same issue he did and your dealer, while he may try to help, will be dependant upon guidance from corporate to make the repair or will need someone from corporate to make it, as was the case with Getut.

Then let us know what happens!

Jimb...

I can't answer your question. To be absolutely honest, I havn't tried to "quantify" the change in my tractor.in the same way that I did when I was trying to get a baseline from multiple CK20HST owners.

Yes there was a drastic change. The HST can now handle (in my humble estimation) at least 88-90% of what the engine can feed into it. The rest is HST lossage and is understandable. To put it in other words, the engine pulls down when trying to move and it is too much for the tractor in either low OR high range. It is obviously no longer limited by any HST pop off pressure.

It "feels" right now even though high range still isn't what I would call "strong" because it isn't. But what I hear going on up front in the engine note jives with what I see at the wheels... and that is a GOOD thing.

As I said.. I am fully satisfied now. I've had about 5 hours of seat time since the work was done and now feel that me and this tractor are going to have a nice long working relationship.

Anyone know what radio stations tractors like to listen to when their in the shop all alone? Don't want it getting lonely while I'm at work and I noticed it has a little trouble turning that little knob to change the channel with the FEL.
