Not sure what dimension you are refering to but the King Kutter customer service people are pretty knowledgable and can probably get you the information. Phone number is on their website as I recall.

Steve, there are 9 cutting "spools" with 6 tines each on the 72" tiller. That's 54 total cutting tines. I have not put a ruler to my KKII, but I'd bet the diameter from bladetip to bladetip is probably around 18". It could be less, but you have the hub the tines are bolted to and each tine's length to consider. That's a big diameter. Also, each of the 9 cutting spools is rotated a few degrees from the one next in a spiral so that at any one instant only one or two tines are cutting and operation is smoothed out.
Now you have me curious to see what the diameter is, so I'll measure it later today and post back on what I find out.

Just measured my tiller. The diameter is 16" from tine-tip to tine-tip.
I was looking at a photo and it looked like the blade tip to tip was very small/short, And since it was 120 miles to the store I figured someone on the forums could answer my question. Now that i know that, I will head down to the mills fleet farm in minnesota and pick one up tomorrow. And by the way the sale price this week is 1549 looking good and thanks to jinman and others for the info

Yeah,well if you'da asked how deep they till it woulda been alot easier.
Put your skids shoes about all the way up. First pass you might go 2-4 inches,second pass,you might be down to 6 inches,third pass you should be at about 8 inches,depending on your dirt,might need another pass.
And adjust that slip clutch like book says,and fill it full of gear oil and grease it.well not full of gear oil,what the book says,mine came empty.

Mine too. I recall a decal or wired on notice to that effect.
The only issue I had in setting mine up was deciding how much grease to put in the non powered bearing zerk on the other side. I first added about ten pumps then looked at the diagram and realized there was a big cavity behind the plate so I added ten more. Tilled half an acre and there was no warmth on the cover plate but I got anxious and added another ten anyway. You cannot see any grease come out on the spindle side but there are two seals so I'm not sure that you would until you'd over filled the chamber. Wish they'd give you an idea of what volume to put in.
The gear side is easy following directions and as I recall it takes about a quart or a bit more until it spills out the level hole.

I was just out in the shop today getting the KK II tiller hooked up to the TC55 and I forgot all about this thread. I was gonna do it (really!). Thanks for getting him the measurements Jim.

I am pretty sure he is asking about the dia. of the "shaft" the the blade flanges are mounted to. The bigger the dia. is, the more rigid and the less flexing the blades will have. I am sure this will have a infleuance on the life of the unit, especially when you hit that stump!

I had this same question when setting up my tiller. I kept pumping grease into the right side thinking I would eventually see grease come out. Lots of pumps.....no grease. After standing a while.....I got grease to come out the filler zerk. As said...not much for information on greasing this bearing. Can you overpack this bearing???

I think you could overpack which was my concern. If I recall correctly the shaft has two seals on it. You'd have to put a lot of grease in to that bearing compartment to have excess forced out through two seals on the rotating shaft. I ended up putting in about 15-20 pumps as I recall and then quit. I did check the tactile temperature of that bearing cover after tilling about a quarter acre and it was cool so I just left it that way. I now add four or five pumps each time I use it.
