KINCO SICKLE BAR MOWER

Hi, I'm a farmer in North Florida. I raise slash pines for pulp wood and am not happy to see all the recycling idiocy as trees are a crop and a commodity. So, use more paper and I sell more trees!

I recently bought an old KINCO 38 inch sickle bar mower. It runs great, but needs tube for the tires AND a replacement drive belt. My question is, HOW do you install the belt?

Who and where can I get a service manual for this equipment? Mine has a 4HP Briggs & Stratton engine, which runs super! Also, my mower tines are in good shape too, but since I will mow between trees and under fence lines, I imagine that sooner or later I will need to replace the tines. Any help would be appreciated.

How are those mowers at cutting on a sidehill? Like on a normal road ditch? I have nearly one mile of ditch that is not toooo steep that wife want the grass/young brush cut a couple of times a year??

If you have a B & S engine find the model number on the engine itself and then go to this website; Lawn Mower Parts | Small Engine Repair | Lawn Mower Repair type it in and look around till you find parts listing and prices. I used the site many times to buy parts for my KMG38 B & S engine. Good luck. I know my engine well and can help you if you have the same as mine. here is my engine info, remember yours might be different.

If you have a Tecumseh engine they have the same system on their own site for parts look-up and pricing!

I have a mint condition KMG-38 cutter. It works very nice. I addition I also have the owners manual and the full color data sheet.

It does have an assembly drawing showing the routing for the belts.

I had a mower like that. Thankfully, it shook itself to death before it shook me to death. I ended up giving it away for parts.
