Killing frost-again

Got down into the low 30s again last night in NE Kansas. The daily highs have been near 50 degrees and our normal average is in the 70's. Weird weather this spring!!

Yep, May 2nd and 32* this am, but it's supposed to be 80* later in the week, be careful what you wish for...................summer will be here in no time, temps in the 90's and humidity to match! I'm in KC...................

Good frost in Thurmont Maryland this morning.. of course I just put in 18 tomatoe & 18 green pepper plants yesterday evening.. when I looked at them this morning.. seems the heat from the worked ground saved them from a frosting. I'll see if any are slumped over when I get home this evening.

I put in 30 tomatoes Saturday. Covered them Saturday night, but decided to just let them root-hog-or-die last night. Some of them seem to be OK this morning. Ah well. I grew most of them from seeds and started them way too early. They were getting so leggy I just decided to put them in and be ready to get more plants if they didn't survive. Next year I'll start them later. Looks like this weekned will be a fine time to have put in the tomatoes I planted Saturday....figures.

Had ice pellets falling this am in WNY. They were bouncing off the windshield all the way to work.

People are just getting around to tilling the soil. We don't plant until Memorial Day.
