May 18th, it’s going to get warm up there some day.
We like a short spring but plants still grow weather its long or a short one. They simply grow faster when the ground temps come up. The dirt in our yard goes not normally freeze over the winter.Dang. Having that much snow pack must keep the ambient air temps pretty chilled out, too.
Ok snow, it's may now. Time to go. The plants need at least a few months of growing season to make food for the critters.
Our snow piles have been gone for at least a week or more on our property in Vanderbilt. JonMay 17th, roughly 2 weeks difference here to there in seasons. Have a snow pile here should be gone tomorrow![]()

Yes.The snow insulates it?
Thought so. We rarely get enough snow to prevent the ground from freezing anymore. Even if I bury things under 4-5' of leaves, they freeze solid. Have to take them indoors for the winter.Yes.
Absolutely, yes it does. The snow insulates it?
