Outstanding idea. Two questions:
1) Do I really need a 3" hole? Will a little smaller work?(2")
2) If I read it right, you can get the rachet and an extension between the tire and the inside wheel well.
This has to make it alot simpler than trying to get my chubby hand in from the back.

Yeah, I guess most any size hole will work. Again, this is about as bad a location for a critical valve as there is. Locate it there? OK......then give the customer several ways to access this all important valve. While thinking about this, there easily could be a thumbwheel rod with universal joints or something. Again, terrible set up

Agree 100% on the lack of design planning.
I honestly cannot find anything else wrong with this tractor and am thrilled with my decision.
OK dealers, can someone mention this to Kioti or is there a fix?

The valve on the CK30 is in a different location than the ones on our CK20s. The main hydraulic valve with power beyond is up front on ours, with the PB switch lever right on top. Not so on the CK30. Maybe you have thought ours is a little difficult to access, but you should try the CK30. A contortionist would love it!

That's a great idea Drew - any pictures?? I'm guessing you don't expect the socket to fall off?
Funny thing is I thought about the hole in the fender myself. This valve has got to be the worst design feature of an otherwize great tractor.

what do you know..............I took a pic but now have a problem with this computer so I can't upload it. The socket is on very snug so no, I'm not worried about it falling off

The best solution to turning the value under the seat is to install a remote set of hydraulic outlets on the tractor. That way it is very eacy to hook up the hoe and you have the outlets for other uses as well. We only did the under the seat deal on the first couple of tractors/hoes. Now we always use the remote kit. It is only a few dollars more expensive and makes life so much easier. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

He's talking about putting in rear remote hydraulics to hook up the backhoe and other implements to. You would then not have to worry about turning the valve. Adding remotes after-the-fact will cost more than a few dollars, but it's probably well worth it.

I just put a call in to Rick Wallace to see how much a rear remote cost, and if it's something I can install.
Like you, I didn't know anything existed. Truthfully, until Rick showed me how to remove the BH, I had no idea how the hydraulic fluid got directed back there /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
It may not be worth it to me. The few times I plan on connecting and disconnecting the BH probably number 5 times in a year.

Now I'm confused. Do you already have rear remotes on your tractor? If so, why is your backhoe being hooked up using the power beyond? If you're using a rear remote, you shouldn't have to bother with switching the valve we're talking about, but just use the remote lever next to the hitch lever.

Hey guys I just got back in,
I have been doing some checking and it looks like the cheapest way to take care of the valve is to run a Woods hose kit.
If I hang a Rhino or a Kioti backhoe on anymore I use the rear remote valve and if the customer doesn't want to spend a little extra I will use the Woods hose kit,
I will post some pictures of the different kits available.
I will also have some prices available so you guys can see the difference in cost.

Looking forward to your posting of the alternatives and the pricing. As someone not within driving distance of a dealer, I'd also be curious if any of the alternatives could be reasonably installed by a non dealer - mainly me. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'm not a qualified mechanic, but I do do my own servicing and can tell which end of a wrench it bigger or smaller.

While awaiting great info from Rick, I'd like to pose a related BH question. Since I started the thread I can deviate abit bit right? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anyone have any tricks for lining up tractor and bh for the mounting? Granted, mine was not in the original dismount position, but it seemed a whole lot of trial and error (mostly error) getting the subframe to where it would slide it. Even after I got it started, it took a bit of tinkering to get that last inch or so before I could place the pins. I was even wishing I could back up to something to brace against as bh was sliding on the gravel.
I guess what would be a related question, is there an easy way to unmount the bh? Again, it seeemed I had to play to get just the right level before I could break away.
Hope this all makes since. I love using my tractor, but sometimes I put off a task if it involves changing the attachments. Well, not the bucket and pallet fork - my ATI quick tach have me spoiled. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

One simple question: are you hooking up the hydraulics before you make final adjustments to attach the subframe. If you are not then that is one way to make the process faster as it allows you to carefully utilize the backhoe itself to adjust the height of the forward and rear portions of the subframe. Just drop the bucket to the ground and slightly (and I repeat carefully) apply downward pressure to lift the subframe. On the 2365/CK20 combo there is enough play in the front of the subframe mount that you can get that captured while the rear portion is still uncoupled and therefore can be moved up by the backhoe's own power.

I haven't had any real trouble doing this but I should acknowledge that I never when to backhoe school so I don't know if it is a recommended practice or not.

As an aside, even though there is no dealer in Hilo, you can certainly find someone on the Beeg Islan with hydraulics experience to help with your valve issue. I don't think there is anything proprietary or particularly unique about the Kioti hydraulic set up.
