Kawasaki KVF 700 question

Hi all,
I have some strange things happened to my 2004 KFV 700 ATV. This has happened twice where when attempting to start my machine. As the engine is rotating to start it just stop like it is seized or something. I wait a few second and try it again but this time it does not turn and sound like the whole motor is seized. I tried to start with pull cord but it is seized and cannot rotate the engine manually Then when I try to start it again it goes like nothing happened and runs great till the next time that it acts up again. I mean the machine will run great all year and then it does it again. I am baffled as I take care of the machine and change oil and filter once a year with Synthetic oil. I would realy appreciate any input from those ATV owners that have had that problem or know of it.

Have had the same thing happen with our Honda Rubicon.
I'm guessing that for some reason there is a misfire and the cylinder ends up under compression with both intake and exhaust valves closed.
We just let it sit for a bit and let the pressure bleed off, then it will start and run normally.
Haven't been able to really determine the cause other than it being a big single cylinder cold natured engine.

That sounds about right. Once I let it sit for a minute or two it fires up again weird and scary cause I was about to load it up and take it in for an appraisal to fix lol. Mine is a V twin so there is a lot of compression. My battery died on me once and man she was hard to pull. .
