I have purchased a Kama 554 tractor from Triple T sales in Lebnon MO. I stuck my neck out and prepaid for the tractor with a four week promised delivery. I am pleased to say that Brian of Triple T was excellent to deal with. His price was good and delivery was on time. Had problems with getting the hitch to go down. It took two phone calls and Jerry provided the info I need to make it work. Had an air bind and need to be warm with the controls in the up possition. Oil does not flow properly in the down possition. It is my understanding (from delivery Larry) that Triple T sells more than 300 tractors a year of various makes. Very nice to deal with. I have other questions about the tractor. Notice a lot of dirt in the sediment bowl. Maybe I need to clean the tank and treat it with acedic acid. Any other idear? Thanks mel

You will see numerous post about fluids on a new machine. By all means change all the fluids, pull your tank and flush clean and you will save yourself a lot of time down the road. Good luck with your new tractor.

Congrats on the new tractor. To echo Wayne, sediment is common, muriatic acid flush seems to be the preferred cleaning method ... Good luck with the new toy ...Scozz

Check some of the other Kama posts, I remember seeing some issues with the fuel tank, and continued clogging of sediment bowl.

The alloy used to make the tank is subject to rust. I have ordered and recieved brand new tanks and they arrived with dusty surface rust already in place. We now remove and clean every tank when we assemble our tractors. We have addressed this with the factory and hope they will improve them. I am thinking the tank is rusty before fuel is ever introduced, the diesel then cleans the rust off and washes it into the sedement bowl and fuel filter. THis should improve with time as I think the diesel is oily enough to ****** further rusting. It is a good policy to keep the tank as full as possilble when stored to avoid condensation, this is good practice anyway as diesel and water don't work well together.

We hope the factory will coat the tanks or find a supplier for plastic tanks in the near future. Other changes that the factory has already improved on our KM models (those imported by ARTRAC) is engine mounted hydraulic pump, AND rear remotes. This leaves the provision for a rear mount auxillary hydraulic pump for backhoe use that is independent of the main hydraulic system and the power steering system.

Also the units we have in stock now have thermostarters on the intake manifolds for cold weather start assist. Unfortunatley neither are available as a retrofit (at this time).

Our KAMA parts inventory continues to grow and we are now able to assist owners of KAMA and Tai Shan tractors purchased from other supply chains with NON WARRANTY parts. (warranty parts must come from same supply channel as tractor). Of course we give priority service and discounted pricing to our own customers and those of our dealers this seems to be the fairest way to deal with the demand for parts from customers who bought elsewhere or self imported thier tractor.

Hey chip, my tractor has the intake flame heater as well but it was not hooked up. Was yours hooked up from the get go?
Can you tell me where they plumbed the fuel from? The return line?
Been meaning to call you to get some filters, just been so **** busy at work and home.

Yes, they have a y in one of the banjo fitings near the thermostarter and it runs into the top of it, they came ready to use. When you mentioned you had this on yours, I asked for this feature they told me they didn't offer it and it was not necessary, then it showed up on the next container load, go figure.

Yea that is funny. Its even funnier that i didnt notice it on mine for a few weeks. One day i was looking at it thinking what the **** is this??? saw that it had a fuel line fitting and a wire terminal and figured it out.
So... do they work? worth plumbing in the thing? do they have a push button switch or is it on a glow plug circuit on the key switch? So i take it that the T is in the return line?

Yes it is the return line, small plastic tube. It seems to work off of the ing. switch. To be honest, we have not needed them, it has been a little warmer around here since they came in.
