Snow Just some more snow pics

Had some fun in our last snow storm in Pagosa Springs, CO. We are located in town ... got about 2' on top of 2' from earlier storm. Our neighbors just outside of town got double that. The pictures are driveway clearing (the bump next to the Subaru is an old Buick). Nearly got stuck a few times but got out using the FEL and sometimes the backhoe.

Picture #4 is like a postcard. That's some gorgeous pure white snow with the pine trees.

You need a much bigger tractor with a cab and a 7' wide snowblower, my friend.

Are you just TRYING to rub it in?

My 2' of snow ended up being 3" of snow with about 1" of rain on top & soaking in. After blowing (ie. puking) the stuff out of the blower the rest wound up freezing overnight and making a truly awful icy driveway. And the forecast for Sunday night/Monday? Yep, more rain. This IS winter, right?

Guess some people just have all the luck! I'd just like to see a foot or two of snow here... and stick around for a while!

Thanks for the picts. At least I can look at some beautiful pictures while I dream of a good dump.

One of your neighbors stopped by Wed evening on his way back home from business in Denver to pick up a track drive snowblower I put up on Craigslist. Looks like he got some good use out of it.

Been kind of boring out in this end of the state this year - no where near as much snow as we got last winter & spring.

You guys have been hogging it all.

Now THERE'S some justification for a snowblower!!

Using the FEL exclusively on that deep stuff is a hard way to clear snow. Still beats a shovel though.

That is a bunch of snow to move around with a bucket. Yep I think you should be looking at moving on up to something a bit larger with some sort of cab and a snowblower. You will still have banks, but they will be twenty or thirty feet away.

I concur about the snowblower. I used my bucket and rear blade until the past week when I bought a used 60" rear blower. My snow banks were way too high and I had run out of room to pile it all. The blower cuts my 2 hour snow ploughing to about 30 minutes. That and no more worries about where to pile it.

I was flying over your area last week. Those mountains are just buried this year. I saw several avalanche chutes where the avalanche has already happened. There will likely be some major avalanches in critical spots (I-70) this spring and, of course, more fatalities as folks play where they shouldn't.

The animals are having a really hard time with the deep snow.

I just hope that there is a gradual sping melt. If not, all of you downhill from us watch out!!
