First post. Three days ago I stopped by the local LS dealer and asked him to get me a J2023H. He has been a Massey Ferguson dealer for decades but he is in the process of becoming an LS dealer.
I've owned a Cub Cadet 3000 (3206) series for the last 10 years and in addition to it's 54" MMM I also added to it a snow blower, dozer/snow blade and Johnny Bucket Sr. Good capable machine, but too small for what I ask of it. I'm always repairing, replacing or welding something on that poor machine, so I thought I'd give both it and me a break and order a machine more suited to my needs.
I don't have any details yet, but what I asked the dealer to get is the J2023, the 60" MMM, FEL, Backhoe and the 50" Snow Blower. I'm hoping he gets back to me soon with price and delivery because I have a lot of projects that I've been putting off because my CC didn't want to do the work.
I am considering a Zero Turn in lieu of the MMM. I cut about 4 acres a week plus I maintain some trails, probably the equivalent of another 1/2 acre or so (about a mile of trails). I cut the trails every other week. A zero turn would be great around the house where I have a lot of trees, but it might be challenged on some of the trails. Maybe a finish mower...just don't know yet. I've been maintaining the trails for a dozen years now, so they are mostly grass now anyway. I considered just keeping the CC for lawn duty, but it's lived a hard 650 hours and I'm really tired of repairing it. To that point, can anyone give me an idea of the quality of the cut of the 60" MMM? I'd much rather maintain one machine.
Anyway, I look forward to your input and I look forward to keeping an active conversation going with other operators of the J-Series. I am very active on the MTF site...even earned a Tech Exchange Contributor badge.
