Buying Advice Just Purchased an LX2610SU - Loader Questions

With mechanical self leveling loaders, you'll need a relief valve in the curl/dump circuit. Usually a dual pressure relief valve, but Kubota seems to kinda cut corners and used a single relief valve.

The reason for the need of an relief valve tied into the curl/dump circuit is because, let's say you fully dumped the bucket lower to the ground. Once you start lifting the loader, the self leveling linkage will try to push the bucket ever further, which won't go because it already hit the stops. If there was no relief valve, something would break or bent. With the relief valve, it simply gives away by revealing the pressure.

Same principle applies if you're at max height, fully curled and try to lower the loader. Something has to give and that's where the relief valve comes into play.

I hope that makes sense.

Sorry for the confusion. Yes, I knew that Swift-Tach and self leveling were two separate options. I did buy the Swift-Tach and was curious if there was a difference between the Swift-Tach and a standard loader. That was answered, so I'm glad they are the same. The sole reason for wanting the ST loader is the single coupler. Other than that, I was fine with the standard.

The second option that I did not get, was the self leveling arms. I was curious if it could be added at a later date, but the more I read, the more I don't want that option.

The R14 tires are back ordered with a ship date of 10/26, so i just opted for the R4s. I guess that is a sign that I didn't need the R14s.

Not absolutely certain but salesman at one of the dealers where I do business told me that the single lever hydraulic compling is available with or without swift-tach.

I think you made the right decision on the tires. Upon first exposure, I liked the R14T tires but having seen the ballooning so evident on both standard sized and, especially, over sized R14Ts, I've had second thoughts. I inspected tractors with both sizes of R14T tires this morning at one of my dealers and, yes, the R14Ts are 4 ply rated whereas R4s are 6 ply rated. I expect that contributes to the ballooning.

Sounds good. Being that the R14s are bias construction, that may be why they are ballooning. I've heard that bias tires are more stiff. No idea though.

I picked up a new LX3310 last week and absolutely thought I wanted the Swift-tach, but taking a good look at them and the hose routing I’m glad my tractor didn’t already have it and I absolutely would not add it. It puts a big bundle of hoses far above the loader arm. That’s just me. Also I have the larger R4 SU tires and 100% glad, I have a set of Bro-tek 2” rear / 1.5” front wheel spacers on the workbench. And the FEL is the same, the Swift-tach coupler/manifold is an addable option. Congrats, good luck...

Good to know about the tires. I hope i didn't mess up with the Swift-Tach.

Here's what it looks like on a smaller tractor, the one I saw on a LX had the hoses up even higher.

^^ Yea, after seeing one in person on an LX, it didn't take me long to decide that wasn't for me, that's a lot of stuff hanging out there.

It was probably a mistake engineering the loader so narrow and close to the tractor. No room for hydraulics and the need for the rerouting lines outside.
