Just got a MoCo!

Actually, I would have preferred either a Hesston or New Holland, but the price for the JD was right, (You don't hear that too often!) so I jumped before it went somewhere else. Which model do you have? Are you cutting alfalfa or grass?

1091 Hesston cutting mixed grass with some clover.

I wanted a New Holland, I have several pieces of their equipment and have had really good luck with the equipment and the local dealer. The New Holland cutters were $1k to $1.5k more money for equivalent machines and the same dealer services the Hesston parts for me. Talked to a few older farmers and the Hesston seamed like a decent deal. $1300 , needed 2 very minor repairs, less than $1500 total invested. Was cutting with a 1941 Farmall H and JD #5 mower, sold the farmall for $1800 and kept the sickle for mowing road side and field edges etc. Actually came out ahead for once.
