Just bought a YM2000

Just bought a Yanmar YM2000 today. The tractor has 800 hours on it and ran and operated flawlessly. No quicky paint job, couldnt find any leaks, cant wait to get to grading! Also got a 100% 3 month warranty. Paid 3100 for it with 4 ft grader delivery included. Oh and got a spare rear tire and rim to boot! And to think I almost bought a Ford 8N for not much less!
Question, I see Yanmar and JD mentioned alot together, are they simular?

At one time Yanmar built John Deere's compact line, the 50 series and 70 series. IE, 650 through 1050 and 670 through 1070. Still supply the engines for the 4X10 series and completely build the 790 and 990. They also build the 4015.

You got a great deal price wise. And you have a few improvements over the 8n.. like live hyds, better transmission gearing and ranges...and the fact that it is about 25-30 years newer. ( that said though.. the 8n is a decent machine, for quite a few tasks.. like mowing.. etc. )
