All...

Maybe an isolated incident but..... Ordered chains from Tirechain.com on 09 Feb... They were listed on the web-site as in-stock. Recieved a UPS shipping and tracking number from them, CC was charged. UPS info listed they would be delivered on 11 Feb. On 12 Feb called UPS inquiring as to were these elusive chains were. Was informed they had not recieved them from Tirechain.com yet. Blizzard in the NE so I figured I would give them some time. Tried to call Tirechain.com, phone was ALWAYS busy. On 15 FEb recieved a call from Tirechain.com, Seems the chains I ordered were now NOT in stock but some that were many $$ more were. After cancelling my order, I checked there web-site and the ones I ordered were STILL listed as In-Stock... Tried to call them again and phone is still busy. All numbers on there web-site I might add. And when they called me there number was "unavailable" .. Seems just alittle fishy to me .. So others please beware. I used them after seeing the good reviews on here. Hoping this is just an isolated incident .. As of this morning my CC has NOT been credited back but the UPS shipping bill has. Recieved e-mail confirmation on that from UPS... They took care of there bill really fast... But they still have my $$... CC company being informed..

That's interesting. I just ordered chains there about a week ago. Never recieved a shipping order and the email said they were on back order by a day or two. I am going to have to call to see what is going on. Thank's for the heads up.

I'll bet they are getting hammered with business this year. Just think how many mid-atlantic TBN'ers are buying chains now. Their supplier shipments are probably getting slowed down too.

It could just be the extra business revealed some cracks in their management techniques.

I'm sure they are overloaded this year with orders & can't keep up. I was even looking the site yesterday. I was disappointed with my L39's performance in this snow but it was all ice on the bottom. In 4wd I would get stuck & spin the tires couldn't go forward or backward. It would sit in one spot & spin, I would have to use the backhoe to pull myself out. I might even order chains, then, after this year will probaly never need them?

As others have stated, they're probably just hammered. I ordered mine sat afternoon when the first storm hit in our area, I got them the following wed. I was surprised I got them that quickly, and figured so many others were doing the same thing.

Their web site said they were swamped with orders, and they gave priority to emergency responders. I tried to order some, were listed as in stock, but once you put them in the basket, they were listed as out of stock.

I also have an order pending. The chains I ordered were also listed as IN STOCK and remained that way throughout my order with no indication that the IN STOCK status would change in any way. My confirmation email made no mention of anything I ordered being out of stock. I will watch this thread carefully and will also post my experience as it plays out. I am happy to do business with any reputable company, but it sounds like when they have had the chance to tell some folks things were not available they have made the sale anyway and kept that info to themselves to some extent. Not good business, even when you are busy.
Looking forward to hearing and posting some good news about our orders!

I can find no where on there site stating giving preference to emergency responders. And three things: 1, the chains I ordered are still listed as In-Stock. 2: Been 3 days since I spoke to them when THEY call me and I cancelled my order and they STILL have my $$. 3: There phones are still busy. They took it immediately, they could refund it immediately. Being busy is not an acceptable excuse for doing the wrong thing.. There are a bunch of company's who would cherish being "busy" right now in this economy.

I suspect they have technical systematic issues with their website and back crediting applications software that are magnified by buyer demand. I wouldn't get too excited over CC charges. You usually have a 30 day grace period, and you can always constest any charges and the associated interest. Businesses aren't perfect, especially internet outfits that can operate on a shoestring staff/budget.

The chains I ordered only a few days ago arrived at my house today. The total time from order to finding them here was really less than 3 days. I have not opened the boxes nor checked to see if they are what I need, but they are here and in a VERY timely fashion. I do live in VA, so not too far from them. I also think the size I ordered might not be a high-demand item. My rear tires are 31x15.5x15 ag/turf tires. And while they are on a Kubota B2410 I found them listed on TireChains.com in the Lawn/Garden chains pages rather than the Tractor chains pages. Go figure! My B2410 is not a large tractor by any means, but it certainly isn't a lawn tractor either.
Best of luck getting your chains!
