2 saws I sold to a friend local.

He put these style bows for his uses. The 026 was ported.

The 371 with a bow when I ran it was just way to fast cutting with a bow for my liking.

Bows need to be on old slow saws IMO.

 44.3mm OEM $249.99 MSRP cost. Dealer cost is way above 150 that folks used to buy them for on ebay years back. The 99 dollar kit days are over for oem.

Def catching on the 45mm p+c when going around. I just put on with no base gasket etc test fitting to see if I could see what past owner told me. Yep it was there.

44.3 dont do that.

Someone said there was something about the 42mm needing widening some for 45mm sets.

No clue as not doing that.

Figured I would gap coil while there.

Looking closer at 44.3 piston it might be a oem piston in a afm cylinder. Never recall seeing AB on the afm pistons before.

What I learned today. 42mm cases wont do a 45mm without some clearance to the case.

I felt that catch but would rotate but always a catch.

The 44.3 that came on it afm cylinder too. Didnt catch. I dont see it on my other 42mm I did with 44.3 either. Just clears enough.

So I ordered me some 44.3 rings as I am out and going to clean the other set up and install with new base gasket too. Plug the decomp hole also.

Compared with another 44.3 I had here and exact same everything. Just one has Mahle and other one E. Rest of numbers and letters the same.

So oem piston 44.3 was in afm 44.3 cylinder originally on the 42 early saw.

That pic sure brings back memories. First chain saw I ever ran was a Mac with a Bow. Pre- 1970 just exactly when I don't recall.
Guys still like running and collecting the older poulans with the bows on them.

Older and slower what they should be on IMO. The one on that 371 372 was just to fast with a bow for me.

For the guy telling me his first saw was a stihl 041.

Little history of the 040 before the 041 was updated to.

One I had and sold to collector for 40 so he could restore it.

Here is what a Dolmar 166 118cc woods ported exhaust outlet looks like. Compare to the stock one posted earlier. Not much noticeable.

Only thing I am waiting for now is a ring for project Poorsoul I nicknamed it.

Was doing some 44.3 piston comparisons from a scored one I took out. Learned alot on that thread in my group.

What some of the letters and numbers mean. I can never remember them all.

Both oem shown. 1 from poorsoul.
