Ok, I have to Ask, "Why the Dual Throttle Bodies?" or 1 TR and 1 Carb?

Wouldn't a bigger Carb offer a straighter opening? Does the secondary lead to the Transfer Ports or something strange like that?

That is how stratified motors operate for a chainsaw. It's due to the EPA. It's a port that injects air into the combustion chamber post ignition to help with unburnt fuel.

Those that know, collect all the old saws that are pre strato to get a true two stroke design. My newest saw is a Stihl 361, Stihls last true two stroke saw. I have like 6 of them to last me the rest of my life. They are simple and never fail...

Thanks, I was a Saw Tech, but yes before the EPA got involved.

Just trying to figure out "Where the Air Enters?" How would it Scavenge Fuel? Wouldn't a Tuned Pipe d a Better Job?

I guess, We have a BR600 Blower at work 4 MIX that runs mixed fuel, it is still running after 12 winters of Blowing Cars. Strange Days

I couldn't tell you what works better as far as scavenging goes, but I suspect the engineers found a way to make it work to meet EPA standards.

@D'oh the extra is air inlet. Be on top or even bottom too.

Cheap poulan cylinder left before like we were used to with carb and the later epa strato right with extra air inlet.

If that's a 346XP, I bet he chooses that one...
Yep ran all 3 and took the 45cc 346 OE first year saw 1999.

He said he wanted a lighter husky saw for limbing some downed trees he already has waiting.
He used to have a husky 550 mkll for such, but sold it during down times in covid years.

Ok, that makes sense that it goes right to the Transfer ports, Piston Timed, but lower, not sure how it would get timed, or what it would do that a normal bigger bored Carb wouldn't do.

I knew someday one would turn up to buy right and used. Echo 501 bought PHO.
Which didn’t matter as I have all of that on hand.
Psi felt good and popped on choke all I cared about.

If good I can test one stock now then muffler modded to see.

The metal handle with rubber coating feels so much better then the plastic handles the cheaper version echo use.

Wish their better one came with mag clutch covers over plastic.

Mixed about those captive bar nuts.

Like standard recoil better then spring assisted one like on 490.

Quick muffler mod for no cost.
