I wish you were my neighbor.
Farmer up the road likes it.

I have never charged him anything for my labor and troubleshooting.
Unless parts needed.

His 660 bought new has very little use. Even though it dont appear so from farm storage dirt covering.

251 suks.

He saved my azz one buried winter 700' back when my 1st plow set up broke during a storm. Christmas eve.

We had a great saw shop in my town, but same ol story. Owner got older, son didn’t want to continue the business and he closed up then passed away.
Now it’s the Stihl delaer when I can’t fix.

Great thread. I love older saws! Added a Stihl 041AV to the collection today. Probably 40+ years old? A neighbor gave it to me for coming by and cutting up a large oak that had fallen across his driveway. He said he hadn't managed to get it to run in several years.

I brought it home, cleaned it up some, dumped the old gas in it, cleaned the air filter, checked the plug, reset the hi & low speed jets to std and backed off the idle screw which had been turned in as far as it would go. It coughed and came to life quickly and is running super sweet. I'll check the no load RPM tomorrow as it sounds almost too fast for an old torque monster saw. Even with the heft of this thing I can feel a whole bunch of torque when I squeeze the trigger. Should be fun to put into a big'ol oak and watch it eat.

Almost the exact same story here. A place called All About Mowers closed about 6 months ago. They were a good Stihl dealer to with a decent repair shop. Sad.

If anyone here is wanting to try nano 325 on their 192, 193, 201, 200

Selling off my bought new Oregon nano speedcut clutch drum for such. $25 shipped US mainland PP FF way or pick up local.

Still have box and plastic came in.

10 test cuts. Used b+c on a smaller cc saw for my uses.

I remember few years ago passing up running 075's and 076's in 400 range.

I would rather have a 084 myself.

Either a 75 or 76 I was running here.

Clones earning their keep.

V-modest 2511 has yet to miss a beat. Only time shut off has been to refuel while cutting up apple wood for smaller smoker.
Idle all day.

1/4” mini micro set up I got from Smitty's Saw Shack in ILL, has yet to miss a beat too.

The Farmertec combi gas nozzle actually imho works better then the oem husky one I have. Much smoother on refilling.

Trying to put some time on it.

It truly works better then the husky oem nozzles. Very impressed to date so far.

I cant remember but need to check. I was thinking the husky oem nozzle wouldnt fit the small saw ones. I need to check.

Checked the no load RPM on the 41AV before testing it out on a fresh blow down this morning. As suspected it was running fast, 13200 no load RPM max. I settled on 11,500 for no load max RPM for the moment. I need to see if I can hunt down the specs for it. Anyone happen to know a good max RPM to shoot for on this old beasty?

Speaking of clones, I too have developed a grudging admiration for this blue one. As an occasional user I can't find much to fault on this G372XP I've had for a couple of years. It's done duty for felling and spent some time mounted on an Alaskan Mill. It's been a reliable runner to date and bang for the buck is hard to beat.

Tested 3 saws today using that Duke's chain to see.

IMO need a file to them out of the box but most wont bother to do that.

Farmertec G466 460 stock with base gasket and DP cover.

Standard bore Farmertec D cc aftermarket cylinder first cuts in maple dropped 2 months ago.

Husqvarna 359 that Corey aka Fabcorp OK ported. Work tune aka hair fat to compare to the stock gasket delete one.

Untouched Dukes chain out of box. Again this chain could use a file on both.

Maple that was dropped 2 months ago.

So basically what I have always known. Ported saws punch above their cc weight size.

When I got that 359 I was told it cut with OE 372 71cc. G466 cuts just like a oem 460 with a DP.
Not the turd 460 with pencil easer side outlet only. SMH

59cc - 76.5cc

upper 12lb range and upper 14lb range G466 is with small inner spike for weight shown. It is little heavier now by double bigger spikes.

Now I have ran the 359 ported with 24" buried ripping and it smiled and said more please. 😂

Thats as far as I would go on it. Stock G466 I have ran 32" buried and it smiles too ripping.
