I tried to trade the ugly ORANGE Kubota to the JD dealer, and he just laughed. Said that with the sticking hydro pedal problems, that he didn't want to have anything to do with it. Suggested that I sell it on eBay or to some unsuspecting "sucker". Then I tried the MF dealer and he also said a similar thing, but he wasn't as kind in his choice of words. I don't dare repeat what he had to say. I did find one dealer that would consider it. The Jinma dealer offered $6000 in trade for a new Jinma at list and said that is all a Japanese tractor was worth. Even that trade in amount was subject to review by management upon inspection of the tractor. He said it is not as well built as a Chinese tractor and a lot lighter. Will have to check with DYI to get his take on it. The search continues to find a replacement for my Kubota, since I was so gravely insulted on the Kubota Owning/Operating forum by Twinkle Toes! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif How would you feel? /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Junkman what will you take for your Kubota? I need something to dress up the end of my drive and I figure a orange Kubota would work. Maybe I can paint it blue and cars passing will think it's a New Holland.

Then you could go out and get your green and yellow thingie.

what's wrong with green and yellow?? they are the colors of the best nfl team! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Only because nobody makes a silver amd blue tractor with stars on the hood!!!!! It would also be without a canopy or hood so it could be open to the sky .... even during a Texas summer.
What have we started here????

It will take more than a Kubota to dress up the end of your drive! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I heard that the town sent you a letter last week wanting to tear down your house and build a slum in it's place as a neighborhood improvement project. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
I am off to check out the PowerTrac this afternoon. Hear that they make a good unit. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Actually the zoning folks love me. I always pay my taxes on time and I'm always wanting to put up another building. I really need another pole barn, or should I say my inventory does.

I'm serious about the Bota. I have a good friend that has been looking at Bota's for bout a year now. He squeaks a little bit and wants to save some money by buying used rather than new. He would rather someone else take the hit on the depreciation. But he likes buying from someone who takes care of their equipment. Maybe that scenario doesn't fit you since you are an old, and I mean old Corvair jockey?

Junkman I just talked with Chett on the telephone and he would like to find something in orange about 25 HP and with 4WD. He would like to have a FEL but it is not absolutely essential. Interested?

Hey Mike,
You'll have to wait until this evening to hear back from him. He said he was heading over this afternoon to check out someone's Power Trac.

Junkman with a Power Trac? It just might work! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

It is a 2003 Kubota BX-22 tractor loader backhoe with 53 hours. Looks like new.... Has the 3 point hitch upgrade that is recommended by a lot of the people on TBN. Flip over pads for street and turf work on the backhoe, a $200 extra from Kubota and a block heater. Four position front loader valve. Kubota weight box for the rear. 12" hoe bucket. Tooth bar included for front loader bucket. Steering wheel air bag included at no extra cost (exploded). /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif His offer is going to have to be a little better than the Jinma dealer! Just remember that I didn't just fall off the turnip truck. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I'll print your description and take it over. Our families are doing Mexican tonight together. I'll give it to him after he has had a couple of double Margarita's, /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif as he always spends money easier that way. He is basically lost on the computer and asked me to find him a nice Bota. He lives relatively close to me and I have known him since I was a kid. We used to live next door to each other when we were kids, but that goes back more than a few years ago.

So how long ago was it?

/ Junkman Jumping Ship?? #32
Junkman I just sent you a PM. If you can send my regular email account a couple of pictures then I could take them with me tonight. A picture is worth a thousand words.

/ Junkman Jumping Ship?? #33
Hey Junkman I passed your description and pictures that you sent me on to Chett this evening at dinner. He seemed pretty interested but hey, he had a few drinks so what can I say. I really think that he wanted to talk with his wife Charlene before he made any commitment. I expect he will give me a call in the AM tomorrow after the alcohol wears off.

What did you test drive today? It's a ball running all the new machinery offered today isn't it? Did you break anything at the dealers yet? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Junkman I just got off the phone with Chett. He called to let me know that he would take your beat up Kubota off your hands for you. He said to tell you $6475.00

I told him that you may throw in the wife to sweeten the deal. He wants to know if she can clean fish and does she own a bass boat of her own? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

He also wants to know about how far you are from Providence, RI as he has a sister that lives there. He was planning on going to see her next month as he has some vacation days owed him.

Are you quite sure that you want to get involved with the John Deere forums? You yourself told me more than once that the majority of green owners must starch their underwear because they have no sense of humor. You would be out of place in that forum in my opinion. Those guys would't appreciate you one bit.

/ Junkman Jumping Ship?? #35
I think Junkman will bring just the right amount of starch to the Powertrac Forum.... What model are you looking at and where are you looking at it - I'm not aware of a dealer around CT... I may have to check these out as well. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Steve,

PowerTrac does not have dealers. You must buy direct from them. They're in Tazewell, Virginia. But I will say that PT owners seem to be very obliging. If you can find someone that owns one in your area, they seem more than willing to let a stranger come over and play with their machines. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Junkman
I want to thank you for your call today. Although your offer to trade your BX and cash in swap for my Mahindra was enticing, I just can't figure out where I can use a BX on my lot. As you know, the Mahindra is 40 HP and the next time around, I will get 48 HP or larger machine.. I do have an old, 1970 cub garden tractor (w/new engine) which is almost the size of your BX. Maybe we should both go to the local dealers and see what can happen trading off both machines.. Yeah, what do you say to this?

/ Junkman Jumping Ship?? #38
Junkman are you just blowing smoke, do you want to sell the BX or not? You haven't even responded to the offer that I brought to the table. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Chett called this evening to discuss the deal and asked about throwing in the wife. I decided that I would go along with his absurdness and asked to speak with Charlene, his wife. My wife was on the extension phone. It didn't take too long before the two girls started to compare notes and figured out that Chett can't handle what he has and to double his burden with a second wife would just add to his frustration. What you didn't tell me was that Chett was going through a gender reassignment and that he, soon to be she, is coming to Providence to have surgery. I don't believe that after the surgery is completed that she will be in any condition for a while to be riding a tractor. While I do appreciate all of your efforts, I don't believe that this is going to be a viable transaction. I must admit that he did tell me quite a bit about you and how you got into selling handcuffs, whips, etc. PineRidge, interesting website you have. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I find this very interesting that Junkman will make fun of some nutcase going for a gender reassignment when he himself has been caught at the local truck stop (Thursday nights) walking the premises in drag..
