I am Having an issue with starting a John Deere TLB 110 tractor. I think I have a bad saftey switch somewhere but I don't know where they are all located. I have bypassed the seat saftey switches and can start the machine by jumping over the starter with a wire but I can't get the starter to engage with the key only. Anyone have info about these things?

I had a similar problem only last week. Turns out the ignition switch was the problem. Take out the ignition (starter) switch and remove the electrical connector block. Check the "spades" connectors. I found one of the connectors was badly corroded. This would make a connection intermittently. I am waiting for a new a ignition switch. In the meantime I rigged up a wire connection directly from the spade connector to the receiving end (some modifications were needed but all manageable) and whola, I am now able to start directly from the key instead of jumping the connection at the starter motor end.
Maybe you have the same problem.
