Don't know if something internal needs to be "in position" to detect its location.. might be possible to check that out after removal of the switch.

I did not find anything in the Service/tech manual either on the switch being adjustable.
But I did read in a post where the linkage is adjustable. But I just dont know where the adjustment is.
If there is one.

I want to thank everybody for your help with this problem!
I found the switch. Unplugged it. And sprayed WD 40 on it.
It seems to work fine now. I have had this problem in the past. And it only seems to happen on cold damp days so maybe this is the ticket! Thanks again everybody!
