The primary drive belt keeps breaking. I have replaced it 3 times. I have also replaced the electric clutch. Anyone know what the problem could be?

Bad pulleys are capable of destroying belts.

Try a belt from JD. I has not had any luck with automotive belts on mowers.

They have all been jd belts. The pulleys don't appear to be in bad shape nor are the bearings. I think I will replace them anyways.

i'm not one for fixing what not's broke.. so if they look good and are not binding or catching, and have no sharp bits, and are running rue, i'd look elsewere. don' forget to look a idlers and tensioners..

Replaced the clutch too??

Are you engaging the clutch at the slowest engine speed ... Then increasing the throttle ?? engaging at high speed is tough on belts and clutches .... as you have learned.

One can't feather an electric clutch.
