- Massey Ferguson 254 John Deere 990-4700-5310-new holland tn65-kubota l3300-l4200Ferguson to 30,1951-to30,1954, ford 2n 1947, ford 2n 1943 jd 5200, jd 301a, alllis chalmers 45c, John Deere 5200
I spayed my jd 990 with a water hose, also on inside of the hood agains the dash.
The tractor would not start anymore., waited one day 90 degrees and dry, Houston, no change, thought is was the battery which was 4.5 years old, changed it, found a bad connecters on positive side fixed all that still no good.
When I turn the switch, the lights at the dash glow up half the brightness then normal, then sometimes they get bright, if I turn the switch further the started clicks several time, there is also a zooming noise under the dash and hood during starting.
I got it started when I put external 12 volt power direct on the starter, but started gets hot quick.
Now the rubber /foam against the steel frame at the radiator started to smoke, took ground loose real quick.
Anybody has any idea what sorted out, relais, maybe?, Pete.::
