Backhoe john deere 950

john deere 950 mfwd drive shaft to front is off. when I lift the machine up with the outriggers in or out of gear the right spins freely without the left moving.The center gear housing to the drive shaft for the 4wd spins by hand freely.The differental lock is off and it looks like the shaft was spot welded.Its going in in a few weeks who can guess whats wrong? ty
