John Deere 855 PTO won't stay fully engaged

As the title states, my JD 855 PTO will not stay fully engaged unless I hold the PTO handle in the full on position. I do not think it has anything to do with the hydraulics, but likely the magnet that holds the lever in the on position. Has anyone experienced this and found a fix? Thank you-Sam

Sam, the magnet is controlled by several of the operator protection switches

My 755 did the same thing on me. As I got close to the garage to see what was wrong it stopped engaging at all. My fix was simple, A little mechanics wire and wire the magnet right tight to the PTO engagement lever just to finish the days work. It worked so good and hasn't failed to engage or stay engaged since and the fix cost about .25 cents and 10 min of time I decided to leave it that way.

I guess the safety police will be knocking at my door very soon!
