john deere 855 loader control

I was hooking up my 70A loader after removing the mower deck. I can get the bucket to curl, however the control lever will not move back and forth to raise or lower the boom. Any suggestions.

I did that. the control lever will not move fore and aft. It will move side to side, which would raise and lower the mower deck.
