I had one of those tractors back in the early 2000s. Several months after buying the tractor I received that part in a shipment with a letter from JD with installation instructions. Apparently under some circumstances, the quick attach loaders of that era actually quick attached when in use. That bracket is added insurance against the loader detaching inadvertently.
