John Deere 755
I think the rear main seal on my JD 755 is leaking. The tractor drips a small amount of oil on my garage floor after heavy use and the only place I really see any "wet" oil is around the flywheel. My question is, would it be possible to replace this seal without pulling the motor? It looks to me like if I remove the battery/battery tray, exhaust and drive shaft that I could get it to it from the top without having to remove the motor. This would be ideal for me since I don't have an engine hoist and would have to borrow one if necessary to pull the motor.

you're gonna split it!, easily done with some care and two floor jacks, I have a PDF of the tech manual if you want to read up on it.
Shoot me your email if wanted

This tractor has a frame with an engine sitting in motor mounts along with a drive shaft hooked to the rear HST drive axle.

When I rebuilt my 1050 I split it because the engine and tranny ARE the frame but this 755 is nothing like that.

I guess to me splitting a tractor would be in the traditional sense where as with this newer style it痴 more like pulling an engine out of a car.
