You may find it difficult to operate a pto snowblower with a geared tractor, unless the tractor has a "supercreep" gearing capability. Full blower speed must be maintained to operate the blower properly, and that translates into higher engine rpms for the pto. Without a supercreep, you will resort to constantly slipping the clutch to match tractor speed (slow) to accommodate the snow load into the blower.

Even a hydraulic powerpack (for a hydro blower) will require high PTO input (higher engine rpm) which would still leave you with a ground speed problem.

the front PTO is live but the rear one is not. so that is another plus for the front PTO driven snow blower. You cannot slip the clutch and maintain the rear PTO speed.
