John Deere 650
Hi

I have a mid 80's John deere 650 , 4wd tractor with bucket loader. I'm in the process of replacing the clutch. I've got a copy of the service manual and have followed the instructions for splitting the tractor. I can only get the tractor spread apart about an inch. I have everything disconnected, and the drive shat is not seized on the slip joint for the splined shaft. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have the front supported via an engine hoise and a floor jack for the rear.

Thanks

Joe

You might have a "bind" in the shafts. It may be a little too high or too low. You need to play with the hoist and floor jack to try and eliminate any bind. Raise or lower a little and try to get it to split more.
