John Deere 540b skidded

hi new to forum but we have a jd 540b skidded having trouble with hydrolics the main pump starts to chatter and we loose hydrolics and steering then we loose drive if you shut the machine down and wait a few minutes start it back up it runs fine for 5 or so minutes then looses hydrolics again any thoughts why this is happening thanks

How long since sump screen(parts key 16 A or 16 B) has been checked/cleaned? How long since hyd filters were changed? Also a high pressure internal hyd leak or low pressure internal leak(trans pump circuit) can cause similar symptoms.

We have just done Trany and hyd filters and are going to clean the screens and see how that goes do you know if the screens are beside the Trany filter as the pick and work shop manual are a bit miss leading

Yes screen is located inside of bottom of trans case. One needs to drain oil or insert the nozzle on hose of a running shop vac in hyd filler hole opening while checking screen
