John Deere 4960

Any 4960 owners out there? We'er looking for one and would like some input from someone who has some experience owning and operating one. Pros and cons, the good the bad.

Been 20 years since I been around one but they where a good machine from what I can remember. They had all the bugs worked out by then and that was the last of that style before coming out with the 8000 series. As I am sure you know the exhaust was moved to side of cab. P.S. that is one sharp looking Deere in your pic. Would love to see more.

A 4960 is very little different from a 4955.

Thanks for the info, and that was one of our project tractors we rebuilt and restored. Hated to see it go but made a pretty penny on it. Here's our next project we're going to restore. It's a 1966 3020, paid $2750 for it. Has a broken crank and engine balancer. We'll rebuild the engine, new paint, decals, seat, it'll look just like my profile pic. I'm planning on posting pics as the project progresses.
