Tilt wheel will no longer lock in place and just flops, what is broken and how difficult is it to repair?

Do you have the tilt arm below the steering wheel locked?

Release arm on 10 series was in front of the steering wheel. Was some what of a problamatic tilt steering. Typically dust, dirt, grime got into the mechanism and you could not easily tilt the steering wheel as opposed to it no longer latching. You will probably need to take the covers off from around the sides and see if it is the release itself or something internal. But should not be a real difficult project. Nothing may even be broken, a spring inside the column pushed the "shift fork" back down into place and may have stuck in the raised position.
