john deere 445 engine dies

on my john deere 445 what would cause... when I push the forward pedal it kills the engine?

Have you checked the fuel filter?

What is the fuel condition... age, etc. that you know about?

Maybe we can sneak up on what the problem is.

Is there a safety switch that could faulty on this model. Not sure how theseat switch interacts with the go pedals.

Certainly seems to be a safety switch issue. Does the engine die as soon as the brake is released? there are 3 switches in the safety interlock system. The PTO Switch, The Brake Switch, and The Seat Switch. I own a 455 and have had problems with the seat switch. Remove the connector and reconnect, rapidly actuate and de-actuate the switch. If all else fails ohm out the switch to see if it has failed.

Put a wire jumper in the switch connector and bypass it, that will confirm if switch is bad or not.
