Tractor
Ford-1100- New Holland 1720 - JD-345- JD-425- Cub Cadet- 1863
Was using the tractor to mow and after turning it off and a restart it made click and clatter noise and wouldn't start. After a quick check I found the bolts holding the starter on were loose. after tightening them up I still am getting clatter noise . I would presume the ring gear would be a harder metal than the starter gear but don't know for sure. Haven't pulled it off yet to see if I have burr or a bad tooth any advice as what to look for would help THANKS

I'd advise pulling it off for a close inspection of any possible damage.
