I have my sights on a nice, very low hour, 4066R but it has this same bucket curl issue. Does anyone know if JD has fixed this or are they still explaining it away? Could be a deal ender for me.

Like a stated before my tractor has the same problems and both dealers near me can care less about my complaints. It's still under warranty so I called corporate they are supposed to be calling me back in a few days. Please everybody please never buy a John deere. Worst service ever.

OK. I recently traded for a new 4052R and didnt use loader for 5 minutes when I knew something wasnt right. Can anyone clue me in if this probelm ever got resolved or not? I hauled it back to my dealer and took old tractor home and have not paid a dime yet. I need to get this resolved or I am telling them to keep the dumb thing. I need to know names of dealers, reps, owners.... anything to get my dealer to stand up for me against the mothership. I farmed long enough to know that John Deere isn't the same reputable company it once was when it comes to standing behind their products and I refuse to let them have the upperhand again so need to push a little and get things done. If you like, we can exchange names and talk it over on phone too. Thanks everyone

My loader is equipped with the skid steer style mounts for attachments and not the john deere type. I was under the impression I could just use a skid steer bucket on it but thats not the case. Steer bucket sticks out so darn far that besides being trouble with hitting things I believe it changes all of the geometry as far as what it can lift and breakout force, etc. What is everyone else using for buckets? I have a standard bucket coming for the loader to see how it performs with one of those on. I don't have a clue why they weren't aware that a skid steer bucket won't work with it but I guess if it has that style mount one just assumes, as I did. The whole situation is a nightmare, lol.... Also, has anyone tried plumbing the loader to the rear scv's? I am guessing if one did that the loader will curl and lift like crazy if the loader valve is truly the problem... or am I washed up? Also, I am looking into buying a new Case/IH tractor and loader as a contingency plan if or when I get sick of the runaround. Does anyone know of problems with these tractors? Probably a Farmall 50. Buying red will be a bitter pill to swallow for me but I gotta do something....

We are in the process of purchasing one of the 40 series tractors. Thanks to all for posting about these issues.

I have a brand new 4044R (built in March, 2017) with the H180 MSL FEL and it does NOT exhibit any of the issues listed above.

I can lift the entire front of the tractor off the ground with the bucket flat on the ground and I can raise the tractor just by curling the bucket. It goes up and stays. No issues what so ever. I can do this even at idle.

The hydraulic systems are the same between 4044/4052/4066's - the loader valves are different depending on what FEL you have, the D170 or H180.

Hmmm.... I believe my loader valve was already in the tractor before they even got me a loader to put on it

Yes, you are right. I was thinking about the difference between the M with the D170 and the R with the H180.

UPDATE: Well shortly after discovering my new 4052R had this loader valve issue I decided I needed to do what I had to do. I hauled it back to my dealer and let him know that they hadn't been paid yet and wouldn't get paid until I was satisfied that the loader works like it should. And I also loaded up my 3720 that I thought I traded in on it and headed home. It took several days of the dealer waiting to hear from Deere's troubleshooting department (dtac I guess it is called) and I don't think they offered any help. I put the manager onto this site and told him to READ! I also suggested they hook loader up to rear SCV's and trait to see if it performed better, which they did and it did. They then finally talked it over with their very experienced technician, Brian, who had been out of the loop since all the farmers were putting the crops in. He recalled having to put a new loader valve in a 4066. FINALLY, upon looking the part up they saw that the valve had been subbed to a different part number not once, but twice. They put in the latest valve and VIOLA! It works great and we got the deal finished up and everyone is happy. I think had it not been for this forum that John Deere would have preferred to hang me out to dry, except they hadn't been paid and luckily my old tractor was still there to take hostage. If anyone needs assistance getting their loader fixed any further than this forum, don't hesitate to get ahold of me and I can try to help. I also better note that my dealer did a fine job on this, it just took a while for them to get tired of dtac dragging their feet.

Can you post the part number for the newest valve? That way someone who comes across this thread in the future can check the part number of the valve that they have installed and make sure that they have the correct one.

Bought an older John Deere back in 1999, a 1987 855 had 200 hours on it. The unit had a #7 backhoe 52 loader and 5' mower deck. First time digging with the hoe, noticed Hydralic squeal, either loader or backhoe doesn't matter, Easton JD wants to sell me a $1500 selective control valve. Tried used, but calling around with dismal results. Other posters on here have discribed their 855 with #7 hoe could pull them around with stabilizers down. My close friend has a Kioti CK20 hydro, he came over to help fill in huge hole for propane tank, his machine beat the pants off my John Deere hands down. Little depressing but soldiering on.

So they are saying that you have a bad backhoe valve or a bad loader valve?
A loader valve can be had for $270ish (2 SPOOL COMPACT 1 GPM JOYSTICK CONTROL VALVE | Directional Control Valves | Hydraulic Valves | Hydraulics | www.surpluscenter.com) on Surplus Center and a backhoe valve can be had there for $750ish (6 SPOOL HYD VALVE W/JOYSTICKS PRINCE SV | Directional Control Valves | Hydraulic Valves | Hydraulics | www.surpluscenter.com)
The way to test which is the problem would be to disconnect the hydraulics for the backhoe and see if the squeal is still there when you're using the loader.

Do you happen to know what the part # for the new spool is?

I will go to dealer and get the part number. The number had supposedly been changed twice after my tractor was born so obviously there have been problems and changes made.

Sort of a way out there note:.....

I put a loader valve on my Hurlimann 435 to replace the long lines from the rear remotes, and to add a third valve in case I wanted a grapple function or the like.
After the install, the loader was somewhat "weak" to say it politely. It turned out that the over pressure valve setting on the new three spool loader valve was set considerably lower than the tractor's basic hydro system.
A cover, a jamb nut and a screw driver has put all to right. ;-)

I do not imply that my situation is that of this threads ills and ails. Just that a PRESSURE GAUGE is a useful diagnostic tool for hydraulic issues.

Actually, I can't imagine that "lifting the front wheels off the ground" is the true measure of a loader. I get more assurance when the loader lifts the REAR wheels off the ground. ;-)

Can you please message me.....I called corporate and they refuse to admit there is any issue...I'm beyond frustrated.

OK. I went to my dealer and this is the part number for the NEW valve:LVA21357
OLD valve:LVA18363

Also, they said there was a valve in between these two that apparently did not work since it subbed to my current valve number. I did not get the number for that.

One more item to note was something about needing a decal to go with current valve.... no clue what that's about, and also a note about needing a#LVA21714 hitch/scv controller for cab models made before Nov 1, 2016 and it didn't sound like I needed that. Everything seems to work fine on loader now but it looks like my fuel tank sprung a leak today..... this may be a tractor from ****

Can people post on here whether or not they got any satisfaction from their dealers concerning this issue and new valve please.
