I have a tractor my great grandfather bought new in December of 1960. I am not sure if it was a 1960 or a 1961 model but it is a JD 4010 gas. It had set for about 10 years before i started tinkering with the old gal. I installed new plugs points condenser cap and coil. I also had the gas tank refinished and the carb cleaned and rebuilt. it runs but the fuel mixture is too thick i believe because she smokes like a diesel and is hard to start. I put a brand new fuel pump on it. I have mixed Sea Foam and a lead additive in the gas as well.
I was wondering how to adjust the float on this tractor and what the specifications were. It is a Marvel Schebler Carb. Grandpa said that when the tractor was new the carb was not right so they put a 4020 carb on it and it fixed the problem.
Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
