John Deere 3520
I purchased a new John Deere 3520 tractor last year and have issues with the hydraulic system making a cavitating noise when operating the loader or three point hitch while driving the tractor. My local dealer has attempted to repair this issue three times and cannot repair it, the dealer along with the territory rep now says it is no longer an issue and I am to learn to live with the cavitation issue. This can be replicated by putting the transmission in newtral and depressing the hydrostat foot pedal, then raise the loader or the three point. you can most likey hear and see the loader or three point stop momentarely. Every 3X20 series tractor that I have been on does this, but mine is a bit worse than others. I have had no positive response from the factory or my dealer, does anyone have any suggestions. If your tractor has this issue in the slightest way, please inform your dealer. Maybe with enough feedback from costumers, the issue will get addressed. I also have issues with the three point going up slowly and the tilt steering wheel slipping down, but that is another saga. Very dissapointed with manufacture in the their customer care.... How many hours are on this machine? And have you ever changed the hydraulic oil, filter, & cleaned the suction filter? MY 4120 used to this and it got a lot better when we changed the hydraulic oil on the normal service schedule. It does take awhile for the hydraulic fluid to get warmed up and flowing good. I opted for the Low-Viscosity Hy-Gard over the normal Hy-Gard for quicker fluid flow.

Maybe someone else will chime in that has had a different experience.

+1 Yet another question - does it have the Power Beyond kit on it?

That IS kind of "freaky". Does the 3x20's have 2 hydraulic pumps like the 4x20's? The reason I ask is that the 4x20's have 1 pump for the power steering/hydro charge flow and 1 pump for the implements. I'm curious how the variious hydraulic circuits work on the 3x20's.

I have the same issue with an '08 3320 cab. It has done it since new and I had it back to the dealer several times to fix it. I am running low Vis, it helped and the dealer work helped, but it still does it in the winter.

mine does the same thing I had them check it out. Its the nature of these machines and even tried on another machine. I think the sump isn't big enough to supply the main ehydro pump and implent pump at the same time. You just cant get go full speed ahead and raise the loader as you would do in a high productivity environment like loading out a stock pile into a truck. Most people don't notice it I guess because not everyone operates their machine like this. Complete bs if you ask me. I run low viscosity as well

I had similar problem among others on a 3720, got so disgusted with it when I brought it back to dealer for repairs told him to keep it, Upgraded to 4720 no noise problems what so ever. But after 17 hours had to return it for leaks on hyd. sytem and front axel. The 4720 is much better than the 3720, different design, different engine etc. I am located in minnesota area too and my dealer is just PO me off to no end, 9 days and I still don't have it back. Could you name your dealer, I am ready to go anywhere but to my dealer. Totally un reliable. He won't answer emails, return phone calls etc

I can understand mechanical problems but a good dealer can either make or break the situation, I went to this dealer because he was close, big mistake.

Having said that I think JD quality seems to be slipping. After 4 JD's if this one doesn't work out thinking about switching colors. Don't know much about Kubota, demoed one, was really impressed and that one was before the big changes made

It would be nice if we could name the all the good dealers,
