my 318 shuts down as i move the shifter to start mowing. i thought it might be the neiutral switch cause it started doing this after a wash down and it might have shorted out but i am not sure. If anyone has any advise as to what might be going on i would appreciate very much. Thanks, Manuel.

The neutral switch will prevent starting, a bad seat switch will kill the engine if the lever is moved and your sitting on the seat

Thanks for your input. I have tried to bypass this switch by jumping it. but still kills the engine, wouldn't that work if it was the seat switch? How else can I check the switch? Thanks again.

Try leaving the seat wire disconnected and not jumped
