Okay, Today I sanded the filler I put on the hood, pretty muh done with it, not really sure.. And got the fenders primed!!!! Going to cover the bad rust spots with diamond plate, basically the whole piece where your feet go. I dont really care. I have to fix the cracks with the welder, and then sand them and grind them and reprimer the fenders again...... Oh the joys of bodywork........ Also the right side is 100x worse than the left with rust.... Hardly any on the left side.

Hi,

The Green Paint? Is that better than Spray Paint?

Yeah, i would say it is better than using rattle cans, you can get more coverage, and if your good, not get any runs. This took about 3 mins....

Got the cracks fixed in thr fenders this afternoon, ground off the primer, cleaned the cracks, welded, then ground again, and sanded with the big air sander. Might have to sand with the other one tomorrow, also put my hitch back on and had to repaint part of it because of a socket ring. First pic is of the back side, and the second is of the front.

Okay, here are the details, I replaced the nuts and bolts on the back as you can tell, and sanded most of the rust spots away on the fenders. Hopefully i can paint them tomorrow, or this week. Brake shoes still arent in yet, but I did get one other thing for this today!!! Check them out!

Today, I painted the brake pedals, and some of the rear again, and removed the decals from the hood. My grandfather painted the fenders and hood yesterday, I really dont know what im gonna do about either one, the hood needs alot of work, and so do the fenders on the big rust spot. And also some small dents. Still ot sire when the shoes are comin in, when they do im ordering a decal kit. Going to put some yellow duct tape on the seat where the rips are, I dont really want to spend 220 on a seat. They are only on the top anyway, really in good shape for its age.....

Painted a few spots on the brake pedals i missed, cleaned the inside of the side panels, and that was pretty much it.

Got alot of sanding done today, had to fix 3 cracks on the pedestal, then sanded the rust spots out. Got everything else green sanded too. Not sure what all the little indents are on the pto sheave either..........
Also, anyone have an idea on how to get the tag out w/out damaging anything?

Got my brake shoes today, I think the backing plate is for the right side, so ill have to do a little tinkering with the linkage. Also had to order the 2 small springs that go on the outside of the shoes. tried to put the muffler shroud on, and things werent lining up. I need to weld the crack, and cut a notch in the spot where the pipe goes, so it can be moved forward. The pipe also hits the side panel in the front and back, so the muffler cant be moved. Even got the tag off the pedastal with help from the dremel, hammer, and punch!! Gonna polish it up when i get time, DOING BODYWORK AND POSSIBLY PAINTING TOMORROW AND SUNDAY, in the afternoon. Its coming together! Still need to get the deck out when this is pretty much done. I really want that 80 Cart too....... BTW, the whole brake setup just in the pic was 55$ FOR 1 WHEEL!!!!!

Got green on today!!!!!! The fenders have a few dents, but oh well. Its gonna take a while for the paint to dry, the hood has some problems, but they can be fixed easy. Used the 2210 for a minute, put it back in his other garage, looked to my left and there is a rear hubcap with a spare key in it!!!!!!!!! It still had good chrome in spots!!! The back side is completely covered in rust. So excited!!! The serial number for the 80 cart is 7810. Can anyone tell me the year?? I would guess 79.

Thanks!! Today I tried fixing the bad spots in the hood, but the one run didnt turn out as good as I had hoped. Put the tag back on, and put everything in the back room. Need to get the steering wheel off with the gear puller again, since i tightened it too much. Then put the pedestal back on, hook the wiring back up,etc. Next big project is decals and sanding/painting the rims and polishing the hubcaps. Might buy a front one on ebay if all plans out......

Between the Chevy bowtie on your grill and the IH decal on the fender of your John Deere tractor no one will know what you're driving.

Hahaha I'm really not much of a deere fan......
Today Put another one of our decals on the other side panel, put everything back on the hood, placed the grommet for the seat switch in the fenders(even though there will be no switch), and had my dad figure out the mess of wiring. Also put the parking brakes back together and the pto and light switch. The neutral switch is missing a terminal, and I will most likely hook up the cables tomorrow. I plan on going up to the scrapyard with a few friends amd scavaging for a volt and hour meter. I imagine there wont be anything but its worth a look. That is if i can go... We also had a fire after 5:00 this afternoon at our burn pile......

Today i took the rims/tires out and washed them with degreaser. Came out pretty good, cut a piece out of the firewall for the throttle cable, had my dad help me with it. And finally put the. Battery pan back in because of the firewall. Still need to fix the muffler shroud, and some other small stuff.
