John Deere 3038E hydrostatic shift lever is broken.. is this something that can easily be fixed? the parts, the lever is about 90 shaft key is 7

I'd take it off the tractor, grind it down and try to weld it. What have you got to lose? Doubt if you can put a splint on it...

V it out a bit, weld it and add a piece of 3/16" or 1/4" diameter rod along each edge, it'll last forever.
