I have a hard time getting the oil to flow after opening the suction side of the system for anything (even filter replacements).
I pressurize the case a little bit with compressed air with the engine running to push it through to the pump.
I have no idea what the "correct" method is.
That sounds like a great idea and avoid getting sprayed with oil.

Why didn’t I think of that. ;)

Seems that FleetPride can order a seal with the specs. Waiting with fingers crossed.... $20 vs $519 for a whole new pump...

I'd go ahead and order two of those seals if I could get them - have one on hand for the next time! If it leaked once, it'll leak again eventually.
