Backhoe John Deere 2305 backhoe being introduced

I was just at my JD dealer yesterday and the sales guy I was talking to was just back from a dealer show down south the week before. He told me that JD is introducing a new backhoe for the 2305 and he said it is going to have a price around $5000 and he also mentioned that it is very nice looking. Anyone else hear about this coming soon? I just thought I would mention it so if anyone is in the market they may have more options to consider.

I heard the same thing from my salesman over the weekend. I didn't ask the price, but he did say it would be ready for next year. He also said the new residential zero turn mowers looked good, and they were priced right. The other thing coming is an addition to the gator line, something with four wheel independent suspension. Sounded pretty cool.

I think that is a good idea. When I got my 2320 one of the reasons I picked it over the '05 was the BH.

A small BH on the '05 would be a great option. The 46 BH for the 2320 and 2520 lists out at $6400.00 if I remember.

A wonder if they'll make a kit to fit the 2210?

Seems like a logical move, since Woods made one for the 2210 already, so whats the big deal to get one for the 2210 replacement (2305)...

Im pretty sure the woods is sub-frame mounted as well...

Would that be the 446 curved boom hoe to replace the 46, just as
the 447 replaced the 47?

Its about time they made 1 for it. I was at the dealer today and they told me They used alot of what Woods had done to design the kit but made it beefier with larger cylinders and suposedly it had the Frontier brand on it?????They also said it could be used with the mower deck.

The deck is removed with the Woods BH6000 because the lifting mechanism on the 3ph interferes and must be removed. I have not tried to lock the deck and leave it on, but it should work. I always want the clearance when digging so I remove the mower.

The deck does lock in place with the backhoe installed, no problem...

They will actually be building this as a TLB package from the factory also. They had a Kubota BX backhoe as well as the Wood's unit at the show and JD's backhoe is much better built unit than either of those machines. It will have a curved boom and also be available with a 16" bucket which neither of the other backhoe's in this class offer. It is labeled JD, not Frontier.

I saw SIX semi truck loads of JD compact tractors with loaders & backhoes southbound on I-75 near Tampa about a month ago early one sunday morning going somewhere and had only one blue tractor on the back of a trailer.

Does this mean the John Deere 2305 will now come with (or be available as an option) a foldable ROPS?

No one at the dealer meetings brought up the folding ROPS issue when the backhoe was being introduced. As the 2305 is an "Advantage" series tractor, and only has 2 package codes for ordering (R3 or R4) tires, I doubt we will see it as a factory option. (the "Advantage" series tractors usually have very few, if any options from the factory)

I would be glad to ask my rep if he has heard anything about it next time I talk to him. Hope I was of some help!

Woods does have a 16" bucket.

You don't have to take the mower off on the BX23 to use the Kubota BH.

Just looked at the 260 BH today; Jack sends his regards Duc. And it looks like a well-engineered and thought-through set-up. It uses a subframe that remains attached to the tractor even when the backhoe isn't being used. The system is quick-tach, meaning it can come off and be put on in less than 5 minutes and with no tools. The mower deck can be left on or taken off. The 2210 uses a special seat ($120) that isn't necessary with the 2305. It is entirely backwards compatible, unlike the Kubota BX owners who didn't purchase the backhoe package.
