John Deere 2040 cuts off

My John Deere 2040 is not running smoothly and randomly cuts off for no appearant reason. The fuel tank is full and I have cleaned the bowl and priming pump beside the filter. Any suggestions?

My John Deere 2040 is not running smoothly and randomly cuts off for no appearant reason. The fuel tank is full and I have cleaned the bowl and priming pump beside the filter. Any suggestions?

Check the strainer in the fuel tank above the tank shut off valve. Crud can clog it and limit fuel flow. Ifyou live in the SE, algae can be a real problem in diesel fuel tanks.

Look for kinked or damaged fuel lines and make sure the fitting are tight so you can't suck air in.
