John Deere 1050

There is a 1050 for sale here in the Denver area. It has a loader. The owner says it needs a new head gasket. He wants $4500 for it with the bad head gasket. Is that reasonable? Will I be able to do the head gasket ( have done cars and boats, etc. no problem)? Will 33 hp be enough for an acre and doing fences moving snow breaking concrete etc.???
