John Deere 1020
I have a Deere 1020 and can't get it to stay started. The tractor will turn over and start with the key turned all the way. When releasing the key with the tractor running it dies right away. Could I be having an ignition issue of some sort.

This is a gas tractor not diesel.

Thanks for the help.

bnrv99,I had a 1973 1020 gas that had problems with the solenoid (would die when hot,got to the point it sometimes wouldn't start) Cheap fix, remove solenoid and replace with fine thread plug. Not permanent,I would get solenoid eventually, but can get you going.rat706

Thanks for all the help. I have the tractor running but wanted to let everyone know what the issue was. I found some wires close to the ignition that were chewed by something, once replaced she ran great. Thanks again for the help.
