John Deer LT160 mower

Problem mowing with the JD LT160 mower. With tractor running, engaging the "mower engagement lever", the blade starts but dies out like the interlock kicks in and motor dies out. If I fuss with the lever by lightly engaging the lever over time, the mower eventually will engage and mower drives with no further problem. If i stop, the problem repeats.

I think the interlock shut off on the lever must be the problem. What is the fix? The reverse and seat interlock safety seem to be operational.

Either the switch is busted or out of adjustment . Some of those tractors do have a electronic control board with the interlock relays all grouped together .
