Check ur throttle. Make sure that when u got to mow, the throttle is near fast speed. Might also want to check your PTO and drive belts. The belts could be loose.

Did you change the tranny filter? Does the tractor travel good up hills? What happens when you hold the hydraulic control arms all the way in one position? This will put a load on your tranny too, albeit less than engaging the deck. That transmission is pretty complicated. But, if everthing else is working, sorry to say, it sounds like it could be PTO clutch is going or engagement solenoid. The latter wouldn't be so bad. The former would be a lot bigger repair job.

I just did the cam gear replacement on mine. Not too bad. But, tearing into that tranny is a whole different animal.

Make sure you check the oil in the gear box, for the deck. I had my start to do that and found the box almost empty. Found out that new gear boxes ain't that cheap.

Art, do yo think there's any chance
the motor is running 1 cylinder? or
missing on 1 cylinder? That motor
will run on one quite well, but not develop
the power it needs. you can pull spark plug
wires 1 at a time and see if it changes how
the engine runs. if you find that pulling 1 wire
doesn't change things, you may not have spark on
that side, which could be a bad plug or coilpack.
